Position Profile:


The Master Production Scheduler, reporting to the Senior Manager of Supply Planning, will schedule production plans and coordinate raw material scheduling for assigned production facility to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company's production capacity with some complexity, multiple lines and with scheduling responsibilities as the primary function.


Position Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates and reviews master production schedule, forecast and customer orders, establishing a working sequence of each item on various production systems and priorities to ensure complete and on time shipment according to target inventory levels.

  • Create production plan for co-manufacturing sites as assigned.

  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine production processes, raw material requirements, and number of batches, reducing/optimizing change over and allergen washes.

  • Support SAP APO SNP planning module

  • Establishes and communicates production priorities

  • Leads daily production planning meetings with cross functional teams of the plant to establish priorities and share information on schedule and items coming up such as trials, new product activities, and other events of note.

  • Coordinates weekly maintenance and engineering planning meeting to coordinate down time for preventative maintenance, capital project, and other activities.

  • Confers with department supervisors/checks production status to determine progress of assigned production and schedule attainments. Strive to meet 95.5% of SA and complete SA daily.

  • Maintain and investigate inventory adjustments including negative on-hand reports and other losses in the raw material inventories. Managaing to inventory target levels for raw materials and packaging

  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Adjusts schedules to meet emergencies caused by downtime, increased production demands, or material and/or manpower shortages.

  • Reviewing the material activity report and issuing purchase orders to vendors for incoming goods.

  • Plans and coordinates the STO Stock Transfer Orders of raw materials, packaging and finished goods between plant locations and maintains appropriate inventory balances to support production and order fulfillment.

  • Builds/maintains strong working ties as the "first line of defense" with Vendors to handle/resolve various issues to include order placements, ETA's (estimated time arrivals), call-offs, material defects, etc‚€

  • Generating and consistently updating inventory usage reports to minimize aging due to the use of expired ingredients.

  • Working closely with related department on raw material issues (purchasing, shipping, receiving, scheduling, production consumption etc.)

  • Coordinates cycle counts and establishes groups of raw material categories

  • Coordinates analysis of physical inventory and inventory levels for planning purposes.

  • Maintain and investigate inventory adjustments including negative on-hand reports and other losses in the raw material inventories.

  • Works with PLM/Category to schedule new product trials and R&D trials.

  • Ability to identify issues and develop option based solutions

  • Creates and publishes a Master Production Schedule via SNP Supply Network Planning to include an executable ongoing updated firm weekly schedule (planned orders to Material Scheduler at plant), that meets the Final Demand Plan from the S&OP meeting covering a horizon of 2 weeks to 18 months

  • Owns weekly schedule in SAP's ECC Enterprise Central Component establishing a work sequence for each item through various production resources while smoothing and prioritizing for the Shop Floor to ensure ATP Available to Promise commitments are met, complete and on time according to customer orders or sales projections

  • Provide timely awareness and solutions as demand exceeds capacity and keep management informed of projected overtime requirements to meet the demand.

  • Submits weekly overtime (OT) requests by line for approval.

  • Updates cut reason codes daily and submits potential cuts report daily.

  • Provides solutions to proposed sales promotional activity within 48 hours.

  • Owns MRP Views in SAP for purchased materials

  • Other reports and projects as requested by management.

  • Supports plant production boards and operation excellence related activites

  • Support other plants as needed, especially to provide PTO back up support.

  • Creates monthly supply review details for the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process

  • Supports product safety, quality and legality.

  • Communicates Safety, Quality, and Food Safety policies to all employees. Ensures such policies are applied by all employees.

  • Support, and comply with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs and legality.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Experience: 3-5 Years of Production Planning and Materials Coordination experience, including: demand capacity analysis, production planning, purchasing, expediting and/or inventory control in a manufacturing environment.¬ 


Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management or related.

Travel Requirement:

Approximately 5%

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
