Job Summary:
The Plant Mechanic is primarily responsible for the safe and complete maintenance of various aggregate crushing, washing, and screening plants. The successful candidate will possess a broad knwledge of aggregate processing plants, maintenance, repair, and fabrication abilities, and excellent communication and customer service skills. Incumbent upon this position is the ability to work together as a team in high pressure situations to meet our customer's needs.

•Perform daily maintenance of the plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions
•Good attendance and punctuality are a must, able to work irregular and extended hours and weekends to complete maintenance, repairs within the facility
•Perform record keeping requirements relating to safety and maintenance
•Performs repair and maintenance activities including, but not limited to, screen changes, conveyor belt repair and adjustment, wear parts replacement, crusher liner changes, water pump service, and perform cutting, grinding and welding as needed
•Safe operation of heavy equipment used to perform plant mainteanance and repair tasks
•Interface with internal and external customers, vendors, and contractors in ap rofessional manner; excellent customer service, conflict resolution and communication skills are essential to the success of this position
•Additional duties as needed

High School Diploma or GED /equivalent

•Learn and follow CalPortland policies
•Able to lift and or move 75 lbs. on a routine basis and 100 lbs. on an occasional basis, climb stairs/ladders and walk on uneven or rough terrain; ability to work up to 12 hours in length, when necessary
•Able to stand, walk, climb, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, drive, ride, twist, push/pull of controls and ride on rough terrain
•Able to work in wet and/or dry conditions and extreme heat and cold
•Must have a valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation
•Demonstrate knowledge of various aggregate plant equipment including hoppers, feeders, conveyors, screens, crushers, classifying tanks and screws, thickeners/clarifiers, pumps, motors, gearboxes and track mounted screens and crushers
•Proficient ans safe operation of mobile equipment used to support repair and maintenance activities including manlift, forklift and skid steer
•Familiarity with mine site safety rules and regulations, including MSHA, CalOSHA, etc.
•Proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requiring consistent use of appropriate PPE; the work environment may include moving mechanical parts, airborne particles and moderate to loud noises
•Must possess a minimum amount of hand tools and equipment to perform the required work; CalPorland will provide additional specialized tools, as necessary; all tools and equipment must be maintained in safe working order and be compliant for their intended use
•Five years experience in the mining and/or aggregate industry

•Current MSHA Training Certification; additional equipment training from manufacturers or vendors
•Supervisor experience with the ability to lead a repair crew of 2-4 employees
•Experience in hard rock, drill and blast minining and crushing operations
•Computer skills to perform data entry, print documents and reports, generate work orders, and log maintenance history
•Proficient knowledge of track mounted crushing and screening equipment

Conditions of Employment:
Successful candidate must submit to post offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
