Vice President of Regional Retail Distribution Centers

 The Vice President of Regional Retail Distribution Centers provides effective leadership to a medium to large-sized group of employees, ensuring efficient use of labor hours and productivity to support our customers' needs, while simultaneously following a continuous quality improvement philosophy. This position applies accountability standards based on key metrics and implements change to continuously improve performance and increase workflow efficiencies. The Vice President of Regional Retail Distribution Centers maintains operational integrity, including utilization of space and equipment, and ensures processes are effectively established, monitored and optimized. This position will provide coaching, mentoring and support in the development of staff, and recognizes individual team success. The Vice President of Regional Retail Distribution Centers will have a clear vision and provide overall strategic direction for the retail distribution operations. Primary Job Functions: Challenge the current business processes and direct managers to eliminate waste by reducing non-value-added activities. Mentor leaders who thoroughly understand the work; live the philosophy of the Company and teach this philosophy to others. Encourage a culture that stops to fix problems, get quality right the first time and systematically solve root cause problems. Work directly with and challenge other management and employees within the organization to identify problems. Assist them in determining solutions that will allow the Company to achieve its goals in the areas of profit, growth and customer satisfaction. Oversee the management and performance of Company delivery drivers and service techs as well as 3rd party Delivery Companies and Service Techs. Challenge the team to be Customer Centric, including developing strategies to enhance our customer service and our growth, focusing on deliveries that are on-time, in-full and defect-free to influence positive customer feedback results. Collaborate with management to ensure that all processes and procedures are consistent across all sites. Provide strategic oversight and guide teams to identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and waste. Monitor damage and rework within each assigned retail distribution center, and direct the establishment and implementation of distribution center standards. Analyze key metrics for each assigned retail distribution center and ensure established goals are met in the areas of performance, quality, safety, customer satisfaction, budgetary plan, etc. Drive performance improvement and measure through the use and interpretation of Continuous Improvement Tools. Work directly with the other leaders of the organization and outside contractors or compliance personnel in regards to facility initiatives, projects, safety compliance, etc. Oversee departmental annual budgets based on the forecasting by the Company. Work with the management team to create short-term and long-term labor needs based on sales forecasts and direction from leadership and other stakeholders within the business. Initiate, coordinate and oversee major projects across distribution centers, such as distribution center layout changes, equipment, and space needs and utilization, capital expenses, major repairs, etc. Keep current on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and make appropriate recommendations to executive leadership as necessary. Oversee and monitor the planning and scheduling of assigned retail distribution centers and their services including delivery, receiving, shop, returned/damaged goods, service techs, maintenance, administrative activities, etc., to ensure the customer requirements and demands are met in an efficient manner. Ensure inventory control measures are maintained for all finished goods within the retail distribution centers. Review receiving volume and ensure inventory levels within the retail distribution center are at proper levels to service our customers in a timely manner. Oversee and evaluate equipment & facilities maintenance program to ensure quality as well as operational efficiency; negotiate cost and service. Oversee and monitor safety and security for the facility and for our employees. Ensure proper training is conducted on the training schedule provided by our Health, Safety and Security department. Work with management to make sure all contracts are in place and comply with our policies. Make employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, pay adjustments, etc. Coordinate and manage the work of employees by directing members of the team to meet the area's goals. Audit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to. Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews. Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and skill development activities. Audit, maintain and ensure employee time-keeping and absentee records are accurate. Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through weekly team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunities. Manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods, and materials. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
